Catalog description

As family businesses make up a significant portion of the US economy, understanding what they are and their unique characteristics is vital to understanding the broader business arena. This course will examine what makes family businesses different from other businesses. It will also explore how family businesses differ by philosophy, ownership structure and generation contributing to unique opportunities and challenges in their evolution. This course is ideal for someone who works in a family business, wants to advise a family business or hopes to start a business. Offered as MGMT 320 and MGMT 420 .
