This course explores the First Amendment's Free Speech Clause, focusing on foundational Supreme Court decisions and their application to contemporary issues. Students will examine the evolving boundaries of free expression by analyzing the distinction between speech protected by the Constitution and those limited classes of speech that the Court has recognized as excluded from First Amendment protection. Prereq: Enrolled in the online Juris Doctor (JD) program.
