Intensive study of a literary, linguistic, or cultural topic with a faculty member, leading to the writing of a review of literature related to a topic in the field of Japanese Studies, which will be part of the research paper constructed in JAPN398: Senior Thesis II. Counts as a Disciplinary Communication course. Prereq: (Declared major in Japanese Studies with Senior student status) and (Academic Inquiry Seminar (AIQS) or SAGES First Seminar) and a passing grade in at least one JAPN Communication Intensive (CI) course.
