Catalog description

This course is focused on engaging groups of students in identifying, analyzing and making decisions on real-world corporate financial problems. Teams of students will be assigned to a client situation drawn from specific areas in finance and work with an industry sponsor in developing the solution. The goal of the course is to immerse the student in an experiential assignment within a real financial discipline with the assistance through mentoring and/or feedback from real finance professionals. After completing your work, each team will present their findings to the professors, their classmates and, most importantly, to a panel of industry professionals. This course is structured to be a capstone experience that allows students to leverage the broad range of skills, tools and approaches introduced throughout the program. It is intended to provide an important bridge from work in the classroom to the unstructured nature of real world business. Offered as BAFI 490 and FNCE 490.
