Data Analytics: Optimization
Case Western Reserve University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course is an introduction to an operations-research approach to engineering decision-making. Mathematical programming is the selection of the best decision, while satisfying some criterion, from some set of available alternatives. Optimization problems arise in all quantitative disciplines from computer science and engineering to operations research and economics. This course will focus on formulation, solution, interpretation, and implementation of the linear programs (LP), integer linear programs (ILP). These methods are powerful mathematical techniques with a wide range of practical applications in various fields, such as manufacturing, transportation, and supply chain management.
