Catalog description

Neuroeconomics investigates how the brain makes economic decisions. The course integrates neuroscience, psychology, and behavioral economics to explore how reward, emotion, and control systems shape human choice. Students analyze how neural signals predict preferences and risk attitudes, how self-control and intertemporal choice influence saving and consumption, and how trust, moral reasoning, and entrepreneurship emerge from neural valuation processes. We will connect lab findings to markets and policy to show how biological constraints refine economic theory. Prereq: ECON 102 .
