Catalog description
Use of the AISC specification for structural steel member design per the LRFD method. Understanding of gravity and lateral load paths in a typical steel building. Role of the Structural Engineer on a design team. Design of tension, compression and flexural members; design of combined bending/axial members; design of bolts and welds, connection elements, shear connections and moment resisting connections. Prereq: ECIV 310 . Prereq or Coreq: ECIV 315 .
