AIChE Competition Laboratory

Catalog description

Laboratory and/or engineering design experience focused on one of the various AIChE sponsored competitions for undergraduate students. One example is the Chem-E-Car competition, which seeks to design and build a car powered by a chemical energy source, that will safely carry a specified load over a given distance and stop. Safety, engineering design, project management, chemical and mechanical systems are stressed. In addition, technical communication of those concepts is important to successful completion of the course. Contact the instructor for additional information about the competitions. Instructor permission required. Prereq: Chemical Engineering major.
