As family businesses make up a significant portion of the US economy, understanding what they are and their unique characteristics is vital to understanding the broader business arena. This course will examine what makes family businesses different from other businesses including their unique characteristics, stakeholder roles and responsibilities, and how they can differ by philosophy, ownership structure and generation.
