Catalog description

First Year Contemporary dance technique is for the student who has previous dance training and aims to major or minor in dance. As a practicum based class, through active participation, it will serve individual development of contemporary movement principles built upon a base of locomotor and axial skills with an increased emphasis on aspects of time, space and dynamics. Explorations and investigations, both practical and cognitive, are designed to lay an introductory foundation for appreciating and understanding embodiment in creative expressions. Counts as a Full-Semester Wellness/Movement course.
