Med Aspects of Speech Path II: Motor Speech Disorders

Catalog description

Speech disorders resulting from conditions acting on motor speech production including dysarthria and apraxia will be discussed. The speech production system, diseases and acquired and congenital neuropathological conditions that affect motor process and resulting speech disorders of phonation, articulation, resonance and prosody will be reviewed. Principles and methods of assessment and treatment within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation framework for neuromotor speech disorders occurring across the lifespan will be reviewed. Prereq: ( COSI 321 or COSI 421 ) and COSI 405 .
