Disability and the ICF Framework

Catalog description

This course explores how developmental, social, and environmental factors influence participation in children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) as a central framework. The course examines how body functions, activities, and contextual factors shape child health and development with an emphasis on strength-based, family-centered care. Students will engage with models of health and disability, translational frameworks of the ICF, inclusive and interdisciplinary practices, and policies that promote meaningful participation across home, school, healthcare, and community settings.
