Catalog description
This communication-intensive course explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is being incorporated into the field of communication sciences (COSI), including speech-language pathology, audiology, swallowing, and speech, language, and hearing sciences. Students will critically evaluate how AI is being integrated in clinical practice and COSI research. Students will strengthen their communication skills through practice in writing, oral presentations, debates, discussion, and project-based learning, preparing them for their future professional roles. This course is open to majors and non-majors. Counts as a Communication Intensive course. Counts as a Human Diversity & Commonality course. Counts as a Moral & Ethical Reasoning course. Pre-req: Academic Inquiry Seminar (AIQS) and COSI 109 .
