Research-to-Practice Implementation: Evidence Translation in Real-World Settings

This communication-intensive course explores how quality improvement (QI), implementation science, and community engagement are used to strengthen systems, processes, and outcomes in real-world settings such as healthcare, education, and community organizations. Students will critically examine how research and evidence-based ideas move into routine practice through these methods, how change efforts are designed and evaluated, and the importance of collaborating with key partners. Students will strengthen their communication skills through practice in writing, oral presentations, debates, discussion, and project-based learning, preparing them for future professional roles across a range of fields where improving systems, programs, and services matters. This course is open to majors and non-majors. Offered as COSI 226 and PSCL 226 . Counts as a Communication Intensive course. Counts as a Local & Global Engagement course. Prereq: Academic Inquiry Seminar (AIQS).
