Cognitive Diversity and Commonality

Catalog description

This course focuses on the ways in which cognition is shaped by experience. We'll consider dimensions such as sex, gender, race/ethnicity, bodily differences, cultural differences, and effects of speaking different languages. Through reading and discussing primary research in the cognitive sciences, we will reflect on how human diversity leads to both differences and parallels in cognition, and how these impact our actions, interactions, perspectives and experiences.
