Catalog description

This course will introduce you to theories and methods that have been developed in cognitive linguistics and usage-based linguistics for the study of grammar, semantics, and their relations to cognition. Through a combination of readings, discussion, and hands-on exploration of puzzling data and problem sets, you will get a solid foundation in the foundational concepts and methodologies of cognitive/usage-based linguistics, and learn how to use cognitive linguistic principles and concepts to analyze new data and examples.
