Catalog description
Hands-on course in which each student designs and completes a real-world project applying contemporary AI methods to a topic in Cognitive Science (e.g., teaching and learning, decision-making, language, multimodal communication, social cognition, creativity, artistic production, music, etc.). Under faculty guidance, students scope a tractable project, implement a working Minimum Viable Product, document risks and limitations, and reflect on the interaction between human and synthetic intelligence in co-intelligent teams. The course emphasizes principled evaluation, transparent documentation, and ethical deployment aligned with institutional policies. Offered as COGS 303 and COGS 403 .
