Experiential Learning in Business Analytics

Catalog description
This course provides an opportunity for students to apply business analytics techniques to realworld data sets, usually sourced from public platforms like Kaggle, but real industry projects are also permissible. About three datasets will be identified by the instructor before the class starts and potentially two teams will go after each dataset/problem of practice. The focus is on solving complex business problems in marketing, operations and other business areas through substantial group projects. Students will work in teams of 3-4 to develop, implement, and present data-driven solutions. The course will emphasize collaboration, practical application of analytical tools, and the communication of results to a non-technical audience. Prereq: BUAI 406A , BUAI 406B , BUAI 433 , BUAI 434 , BUAI 444 and BUAI 492 . Coreq: BUAI 407A , BUAI 407B , BUAI 432 , BUAI 445 and BUAI 485B .
