Catalog description

Pandemics have been a part of human existence throughout history, and recent years have reminded us of their devastating impacts. In this team-taught, multidisciplinary course, students will learn the biological bases of pandemics, approaches for intervention and management, and the challenging legal, ethical, and political aspects that surround pandemics management. Lectures will be delivered by experts in the fields of biology, law, medicine, bioethics, data sciences, nutrition, public health, and public policy. This course fulfills part of the requirements for the Cell and Molecular Biology Area requirement for the BA and BS in biology. Offered as BIOL 380 and NTRN 380 . Counts as a Moral & Ethical Reasoning course.
