Catalog description
This course will expose students to an authentic research project in genetics, cell biology or developmental biology. Students will work in teams to design and execute an authentic research project that will change from semester to semester. Students will develop laboratory skills appropriate to the discipline. Examples include molecular biology, model system genetics, bioinformatics and advanced microscopy. Students are expected to develop teamwork, project management, and communication skills while gaining confidence in their scientific efficacy and developing science identity. This course satisfies a laboratory requirement of the B.A. in Biology. This course satisfies an additional laboratory requirement of the B.S. in Biology. Prereq: Undergraduate student and BIOL 216 and BIOL 326 or Requisites Not Met permission.
