Catalog description

This course develops the habits of mind and writing/communication processes that characterize academic discourse. Students engage with questions and topics from multiple perspectives, and they establish effective writing processes (including planning, drafting, responding to feedback, revising, reflecting, and self-assessing). This Academic Inquiry Seminar includes substantial engagement with communities beyond the university classroom. Students will be expected to engage with stakeholders and to participate in activities on and off campus related to the course topic. Counts as a Local & Global Engagement course. Coreq: Enrolled in Academic Inquiry Placeholder (AIQS 850F for Fall Placement and AIQS 851S for Spring Placement).
