Catalog description

This course is focused on the content needed to be successful in MATH&146, Introduction to Statistics. Learners will develop study skills and habits, collaborative learning skills, and the ability to express mathematical ideas in many forms while working with both abstract and real-world applications. Concepts to be explored include graphical and algebraic representations of linear and exponential functions; proportional reasoning; exponents and scientific notation; and solving authentic situations with equations. Modeling and interpreting results is emphasized. This course must be taken as a co-requisite in the same quarter with MATH&146. NOTE: Grading for this course is pass/fail only. Credits for this course are not transferable, nor do they apply to any college degree or certificate.
