Catalog description

This course advances the dental hygiene skills application and builds on knowledge gained in previous courses. Course concepts enable students to provide a comprehensive dental hygiene care plan reinforcing the application of the dental hygiene process of care. Students are expected to perform the skills required to provide ethical, professional, and compassionate patient care. Emphasis is placed on developing an increased sense of responsibility and proficiency in the clinical setting, advanced instrumentation for periodontally involved patients and the use of adjunct chemotherapeutics. This course contains theory, lab and clinical components.
