Catalog description

This laboratory course emphasizes the development of technical skills for surgical assisting, anesthesia, and dentistry. Emphasis is placed on the identification and care of surgical instruments, gowning and gloving, suturing, and maintaining sterile technique. The key steps involved in administering anesthesia and troubleshooting any complications are explored. The course also covers honing the dentistry skills of scaling, polishing, radiographs, nerve blocks, extractions, and charting.
