This course introduces students to the fundamental principles of insurance billing and the healthcare revenue cycle. Students will explore reimbursement systems, coding processes, and claim submission requirements while developing the communication, documentation, and keyboarding skills necessary for payer correspondence and data accuracy. Emphasis is placed on completing CMS-1500 and UB-04 claims, understanding prospective payment systems, and ensuring compliance through documentation integrity, auditing, and denial management.
