Catalog description

In this course, students are introduced to the origins of physical therapy and the specific roles of physical medicine and rehabilitation professionals in the healthcare system. Topics covered are core values of the profession, the role of the physical therapist assistant, laws, regulations and policies, current issues, and the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition, students learn measurement skills, patient care and handling and universal precautions.
