Catalog description

This course looks at the ethical and legal considerations of practice in the field of dental hygiene. Fundamental factors, such as professional responsibility, decision making, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 are addressed. This course overs the regulation of the practice of dental hence with the focus on the policies of the state dental practice act and the code of the of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. A minimum grade of C is required to pass this course.
