Catalog description

This course is designed for allied health majors and focuses on the basic structural, physical, and chemical properties of organic and biochemical compounds. Topics include hydrocarbons and the chemistry of organic functional groups, and properties of carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. The role of these compounds in metabolism and energy is also discussed. A minimum grade of C is required to pass this course.
