Surgical Case Management

Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to the surgical environment, including the roles of surgical team members, appropriate attire, operating room furniture, instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. Students will learn the principles of asepsis and the practice of sterile technique. The course also presents the fundamental elements of the three phases of surgical case management: preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative.
