Catalog description

This theory and lab course examines the principles of extemporaneous pharmacy practice and non-sterile compounding. Anatomy, disorders, and therapies of the integumentary and endocrine systems are reviewed. Didactic instruction focuses on pharmaceutical calculations, including dilutions, solutions, concentrations, and reconstitution of powdered medications. Laboratory training reinforces safe practice techniques in the preparation, labeling, and packaging of compounded prescriptions.
