This theory and lab course introduces fundamental concepts of microbiology. Topics include the various groups of microorganisms, their structure, physiology, genetics, microbial pathogenicity, infectious diseases, immunology, and selected practical applications. Emphasis is on relationships among bacteria, fungi, molds, protozoans, and arthropods in a healthcare context.
