Catalog description

This course introduces skills related to surgical asepsis, wound care, and intervention techniques for assisting clients in meeting basic nutrition, elimination, and oxygenation needs. Awareness of personal dignity, cultural and spiritual aspects, ethical or legal significance and required communication are integrated with each skill. Interpretation of drug labels, common medical abbreviations used in dosage calculations and general medication administration principles prepare students to administer medications safely. Guided laboratory experience complements theory.
