This course offers a comprehensive introduction to medical terminology, focusing on word construction, common abbreviations, and symbols used in the healthcare profession. Students will explore the structure and function of the human body through the study of basic chemistry, cellular organization, tissues, membranes, and common human diseases. Emphasis is placed on the anatomy and physiology of major body systems, including the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, sensory, endocrine, circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems.
