Catalog description

This theory and lab course covers hospital pharmacy practice, sterile compounding procedures, and workplace safety. The anatomy, disorders, and therapies of the digestive, immune, and eyes–ears–nose systems are surveyed. Students also learn parenteral dosage and intravenous flow rate calculations essential to safe pharmacy practice. Laboratory training provides hands-on experience in aseptic technique, sterile compounding, and the labeling and packaging of sterile preparations.
