Catalog description

This course focuses on the dental hygiene treatment of patients with special needs, using case-based learning to integrate fundamental knowledge with evidence-based, client-centered care. Through detailed case studies, students will improve their skills and prepare for national, regional, and state licensure examinations. The course includes providing comprehensive dental hygiene care in a clinical setting, with an emphasis on instrumentation, advanced techniques for periodontally involved patients, and the use of adjunctive chemotherapeutics. This course contains theory, lab and clinical components.
