Catalog description

This course introduces the healthcare professional to effective communication, support of safe health practices, and improving patient outcomes through information management and technology. Effective use of information systems and the basics of data management, exchange, and safe utilization will be reviewed. Students explore legal and ethical considerations in healthcare informatics and contemporary uses of technology. Students will also engage with current trends, consumer health information, and how to use data to inform practice and make decisions.
