Catalog description
This course explores key works of American literature from 1865 to the present, examining the evolution of prose, poetry, and drama in the context of significant historical and cultural developments. Students will analyze literary texts with attention to their themes, genres, and artistic significant, gaining insight into the social and intellectual movements that shaped them. Upon completion, students will be able to interpret and critically evaluate American literary works within their historical and cultural context.
