Catalog description

This course enhances students’ skills in graduate-level academic writing. Students will learn the conventions and expectations for common types of scholarly and professional writing, including seminar papers, literature reviews, article critiques, research reports, and grant or program proposals. Through focused writing and revision tasks, students will improve their ability to analyze academic texts, edit written work to boost clarity and coherence, identify and correct common mistakes, and communicate complex ideas in a polished academic style. Students will also learn to apply discipline-specific citation practices and develop familiarity with frequently used academic citation styles.
