Catalog description

This course provides a broad introduction to economic analysis for political scientists. The first part of the course will cover the principles of microeconomics, public choice theory, and the economics of technological change. The next segment of the course will apply these tools to build an understanding of macroeconomics and international finance and trade. The final portion of the course will focus on the application of these principles to recent global trade disruptions, technology competition, and policy responses aimed at developing resilient supply chains. The role of technology, innovation, and technology policy will be emphasized across all course topics.
