Catalog description

The course is designed to help students explore how translation shapes our understanding of the world, literature, and different cultures. 82-482 does not aim to build practical translation skills in a specific language pair, but could foster interest in language and translation. The intention is for them to to foster an understanding of the challenges, choices, and impacts involved in moving texts, ideas, and even images across linguistic and cultural boundaries. It will also explore the role of technology in contemporary translation.
