Catalog description

Transform your love of Korean pop culture into professional language skills that open career doors. This intermediate course welcomes both heritage and non-heritage speakers who want to develop workplace-ready Korean while exploring contemporary media and digital culture. Using authentic materials from K-dramas, webtoons, social media, and business content, you'll build practical communication skills for professional settings. Whether you're interested in Korean companies, international business, content creation, translation, or cultural industries, this course provides the language foundation and cultural literacy you need. We'll progress from analyzing how professionals are portrayed in Korean media to developing your own professional communication skills. By semester's end, you'll have a portfolio of work samples, networking language, and the confidence to use Korean in professional contexts.
