Catalog description
In today's rapidly evolving world, the ability to lead effectively is not confined to business professionals alone. Engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, artists, and individuals from all disciplines can benefit immensely from developing strong leadership and behavioral skills. This course is designed to equip students from diverse academic backgrounds with the essential behavioral skills needed to excel in their professional and personal lives. These skills include but are not limited to communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence,public speaking, and confidence building. While technical expertise is important, it is the ability to effectively interact with others, lead teams, and navigate complex social dynamics that distinguishes great leaders. In an era where technology and AI are rapidly transforming industries, the importance of these human-centric skills has never been greater. Students will engage in interactive workshops, group projects, role-playing exercises, and real-world case studies to apply the concepts learned in class. By the end of this course, students will have developed a robust set of skills for leadership roles in their respective fields. This course may use course material that requires students to pay an additional course fee. The course material is secured by the Tepper School because it is otherwise unavailable and directly provided to each student and is not available for individual purchase from the publisher. If so, the third-party course material will be secured and provided by the Tepper School to students enrolled in the course, and students enrolled in the course will be required to pay to the University the associated additional course materials fee for the third-party course material provided.
