Catalog description

Do your eyes ever play tricks on you? Have you ever wondered if what you see is real? What if you could create artworks that alter how other people see? Come learn how artists, philosophers, and neuroscientists have all sought to understand human perception. This course will investigate a range of observational drawing techniques and consider how memory, cognition, and purpose all shape what and how we see. "Eye Mind Hand" will involve lectures, readings, and discussions, but is designed primarily as a studio course. Open to all students with previous drawing experience and a love for the unknown.
