Catalog description

This course serves as an introduction to technical, conceptual and historical practices of painting. Through a variety of painting experiences and presentations using oil media, students progress from observational exercises and exposure to materials and techniques to developing personal processes, imagery and ideas. Class sessions include technical demonstrations, illustrated lectures, personal and group critiques. Prerequisites: 60-150 or 60-157
