Catalog description

The instructor will design an individual course for each undergraduate, graduate, BXA, and AMS student based on the student's experience, performing ability, and career goals. An in-depth study will include the development of a proper tone, breathing techniques, warm-ups, maintenance exercises, practicing techniques, performance anxiety, auditioning, soloing, and other areas of horn playing concerns. Lesson assignments will include scales, transposition, ear training, etudes, solo repertoire, orchestral excerpts, chamber music, listening, and pedagogical methods.
