Catalog description

This course builds upon the music theory skills developed in Harmony I and Harmony II. It provides an overview of some of the predominant forms of 17th, 18th, and 19th-century Western classical music. The motives, themes, and large-scale structures of compositions are analyzed, focusing on how these elements relate to each other and to the composition as a whole. Prerequisites: 57-153 or 57-150
