Catalog description
This class will be an in-depth analytical study of music from the 20th and 21st centuries. It will emphasize selected genres and approaches by representative composers in order to trace the various threads of musical style, to clarify the main characteristics of the period's music, to set the musical developments in broader cultural contexts, and to apply this knowledge to the lives and musical practices of musicians today. Prerequisites: 57-283 and 57-284
