Catalog description

An introduction to the physics of atomic nuclei and elementary particles. This course is suitable as a one-semester course for students not specializing in this area and also provides an introduction to further work in 33-780 , 33-78l. Topics included are symmetry principles of strong and weak interactions, quark model, classification of particles and nuclear forces.
