Catalog description

The course introduces students to basics of computer vision to build familiarity with basic vision concepts, problems, and tools. The course covers the early image formation pipeline (how an image is formed on a sensor and how a camera processes it), basic image processing techniques, 3D perception from single, double and multiple views, semantic scene understanding, optical flow and motion modeling, and the use of learning-based approaches for solving these problems. Course will have biweekly homework, weekly quizzes, a midterm and a final exam. Prerequisite: 18-290 Min. grade C
