Catalog description

This course will address the application of statistical mechanics to chemical systems. Topics to be discussed include the calculation of thermodynamic functions, phase transitions and chemical equilibrium, calculation of the transport properties of gases and liquids and the elementary theory of chemical kinetics. Prerequisites: ( 09-344 or 09-611 ) and 09-231 and 09-701
